As we wrote in an earlier news item the January issue of Senior Market Advisor magazine  will showcase a new annual feature: the “50 Best Ways to Generate Leads.”

In that call to arms, we asked readers to submit their best lead gen tips for publication. We’ve already received some great ones. Following is a sneak peek at what to look for in our January issue:

One of the best ways to generate leads is to advertise selectively.  Your name and what you are offering will be heard or seen by thousands of individual prospects! Couple this with your involvement in community activities and you will develop immediate recognition and when you speak to people, it will be on a warm, friendly basis. You will be recognized as the local specialist.  This method has proven to yield quality prospects who feel they already know you.

The old fashioned way doesn't get much respect or credit, even though it still works in this high tech world:  Striking up a conversation with a stranger!  It's as simple as paying attention to what they are paying attention to, and making a comment or asking a question about it. After all is said and done, people like to do business with friends. I've found that I gain more friends by becoming genuinely interested in people than I can ever get trying to get other people interested in me.  I hope this is valuable enough to share with advisors who are still looking for "secrets".

--Anthony Bolden

Again, this feature is a great opportunity for you to see your name in print and to share your best lead generation ideas with other advisors.

You may enter as many ideas as you like, but please try to limit each entry to no more than 100 words.

You may submit your ideas in the comment space below or e-mail them to me at dwilliams@sbmedia.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.
